Hi I have an Acer aspire 5101AWLmi laptop. My little kid was bashing the keyboard, and probably since then the touchpad has stopped responding. The only way I get any movement and for a brief moment is if I disable or enable it from the synaptic tab on the end. I read that Fn + F7 enables and disables the touchpad, I tried this and wouldn't work. Tried reinstalling driver from internet still no joy. Any idea's anyone?

try a system restore to before your kid bashed it.
