Acomdata external HDD red led all the time

    hi i have a acomdata external HDD usb and it allways is diconecting and showing a red led so i have to move the cable or the HDD to other place for it tu function i thaght it was tha cable but i tried other ones i uses two usb conections plis any idea i formateted it twice same problem

    The controller card in the external is probably a cheap-o. My WD card died. Try another external enclosure. Or put the drive into the PC and if it continues, the drive might be faulty too....If the drive is of a decent brand aka: seagate or WD, i doubt it, but maxtor is trash and so is IBM drives....and all those no name brand that dell use to buy......

    so the conection cardo of the hd is faulty do u mean that and how can i know what brand is how can i conect the hhd without the usb cable is there a whay to fix it
