You don't have to uninstall those programs. Shrink and Decrypter should work fine the way it is. If all you want to do is back up your DVDs, there is no need for nero. You can rip with decrypter or shrink and burn with decypter. Check out these guides, courtesy of bbmayo.

ok well, you don't have to go out and spend money on
    NERO...............some people like it well.

AnyDvd, DVDShrink and DVDDecypter has worked very well
for myself, haven't found a need for anything else in
    my setup..............

now to the Sonic Record Now issue..............
    just from my setup.............

Sonic Record Now is a suck program in my opion,
but anyway, it was interferring with my other
programs i was using (far as backing up Dvd's)
and it was trying to hold on to things i did
    with DVDShrink and DVDDecypter ect....
the only thing i use it far is CD music stuff

i kept it on my computer, but what i did was i
went in the program and turned everything off in
the options lists, that pretty much fixed the
problem with it. it will remember what you have
done with your other programs unless you, tell
it not to remember, in the options...ect

if you open record now and click on the wrench
at the top right hand corner, that's all your
    options....

    my 2 cents
    good day...
    free.....

Are you talking about the folder for ripped files? If you are, you can make and put the folder where ever you want. Just name it something obvious like "Ripped Movie" or whatever you want, and remember where you put it. Let me know if you still have questions. Good luck

Oh, get rid of Roxio. This will cause problems. There is a program that will help get rid of every roxio file on your hard drive. When I find the link for it, I will post it.(unless someone beats me to it)
