I'm thinking of adding DVD burn capabilities to my system a ... 1.7gAMD Athlon, 1G of RAM and MSI DVD player (slaved to my TDK burner which insists on being the IDE2 master). I'm have a friend who is satisfactorily using a Sony DRU500AX internal EIDE drive (slaved to the burner. I would (for personal reasons) like to get the external USB 2.0 DRX-500ULX model. Some have rumor-milled that externals cause problems. Any truth to that? Any work arounds? jp,

Thanks for the quick reply and the nudge I need to get started. I should have enough boytoy money to purchase the unit and dvdxcopy by the weekend! Could you shed some light on why the combo kit exists? Looks like in order to get the full version you need it rather than the lite! jp,
    Mmmm...herbs!
