I am trying to get the English subtitles to play in "City of God" which is only in Portuguees. I also only want to rip the main movie, meaning I don't want any of the menus or extras, just the movie with English subtitles. When I rip the movie, it adds the subtitles but they are not seen when watching the movie. Is there a way to get the subtitles to play without having to add back in the menus?

You have to have the command structure in the files to play the subtitles. Since you're in the Shrink forum and edited, I'm assuming you used Reauthor. You may have removed the ability to use the different subtitles. Use the remote button as suggested to find out. If you need menu function and are using Shrink, I suggest using RipIt4Me and use Movie and Menu in Rip mode and then use the Full Disc backup feature in Shrink. You can still uncheck unwanted Audio and Subpicture (subtitles) in Full Disc.

For RipIt4Me you have to have DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter installed before using the RipIt4Me installer (not the Zip files). Preferences (where you can set Rip Mode) is under Logs/Settings in RipIt4Me. http://www.ripit4me.org

    RipIt4Me installer: http://www.ripit4me.org/RipIt4Me Installer.exe

If you don't have it, you can pick up DVD Decrypter at MrBass.org
