    Howdy,
My apologies if this has been covered, I've been looking for about an hour (direct me to a thread?). In a nutshell, if I wanted to fit, say, 2 1/2 hours on a dvd5 which would be the better process, picture quality-wise: Record using the long-play dvd setting then transfer, or record using the best quality possible and then transfer to DVD Shrink for compression? Or does it matter? Or too many variables(particular encoder, etc)? Thanks for any information.

Not totally sure, but MY guess would be Quality Record then Shrink Compress. If you don't start with the best, you may not get the best.

Also, my experience with DVD Shrink has been nothing short of spectacular in the quality department. There is no perceptive loss of quality with the compression.
