hey guys, i just got a new processor today, amd 5000+ black edition, its currently running at 3.08 with no problems at all with a freezer pro 7 cooling it. the temps are anywhere from 5-10 degrees celcuis when doing minimal stuff, surfing the net, Word, etc. however my old process amd 4200+ would run about 17-22 degress doing the same stuff with the same cooler. so i guess my question is do the temps of the new one seem correct, or could the program be reading the temps wrong and they are actually higher. the program im using is 'core temp'
    thanks in advance

7-10C, that's it? For sure that's a mistake. What program are you using?

5-10 degrees celcius? No way. I haven't seen temps that cool since I stepped outside, earlier today!

ahh core temp... That one is kinda weird. On some occasions it seems to monitor temps way above every other program, which usually causes alarm.

Try speedfan, motherboard monitor 5 and everest ultimate edition(trial)

Yeah, although 22-26 is still quite cool for a stock HSF, it is definitely more in the ball park of where things should be.

really though you do have quite a powerfull CPU as it is but just speaking from personal issues i would leave it alone untell you really really need to do so ......or do you have something that demanding already ........its safer especialy untell you get something to monitor your temp correctly.

so after looking around with speed fan 4.33 a lil bit, im curious to what temperature #3 actually monitors. as this is a really high temp, and would like to cool it down, but i dont know what it is.

Don't worry about that. It's just a glitch or something in the program. I have that problem too.
