So I got a wiikey professionally installed.. I've tried a few different media and the Wii still unable to read the backups. It's a LU517.. Pioneer dvr-212d

So far, I've tried: (all burning at 4x)

    Imation DVD+R
    Staples brand DVD-R
    Fuji DVD-R
    JVC DVD-R
    RiData DVD-R printable

    I use

    Sony DVD-R's (manufacturer ID: SONY16D1)

    or

    Memorex DVD-R's (manufacturer ID: RITEKF1)

100% successful burns (except those out of region that aren't supposed to work... )

Thanks guys.. The guy who installed the chip ended up `adjusting' the laser and it even plays staples brand dvd-r and imation +r's now. I now have 5 backup copies of mario party 8 !
