Any ways to clean static from clips taken from old video tapes digitally on computer?

    How exactly do you clean static from clips taken out of old VHS tapes digitally on a computer? I really need to know because I want to get rid of that annoying static graphical glitches and it's from a show I really liked as a kid.

    Probably using something like AviSynth and filters.
    Upload a short clip of the source (one or two seconds) and post the link at VideoHelp.
