Hey Guy's I'm new to all this. Bought an original psp with custom firmware from HK a few years back, havent used it for 2 years and now it wont let me play an official game i bought recently as it hasnt been updated.

    get the error DADADADA

After reseacrhing the web, I found out that it is because I have version 3.10 OE and Im trying to upgrade to official firmware, and it ownt let me.

Problem is, I have read thee tutorials a hundred times and I just dont get it! You may now officially call me thick! : )

Please help. I am actually willing to pay someone to do this for me. I live in the London area, so anywhere commutable!?

So, you are willing to pay for about five minutes of work?
I am not in the London area (actually not British at all), otherwise I would help you.
What PSP version do you have (PSP 1003 or 2003)?
You have to do two updates, after that your official games will work again.

    On this sticker:
Directly under the Sony logo there is the model number. This sticker is from a continental european PSP, that's why it says PSP-2004, yours should either say PSP-2003 or PSP-1003. You need to take out the battery to see this sticker by the way.

    You need:
    5.00 M33
    http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/1570
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/1568 (official update, rename it to 500.pbp and put it into the UPDATE folder)
    Then 6.38 ME v2
    http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/2082
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/2080 (official update, rename to 638.pbp).

First of all, you need to upgrade to 5.00 M33. Just take the UPDATE folder out of the rar-file from the first link and put it into the GAME folder (inside the folder called PSP) on your memory stick. Then take the eboot.pbp from the second link, rename it to 500.pbp and put it into the UPDATE folder. When you're done disconnect the PSP from your computer, connect it to the charger, go to the game icon and run the update.
When it's done connect your PSP to your computer again and delete the UPDATE folder. Take the UPDATE folder from the rar-file from the third link and put it into the GAME folder again. Then take the eboot.pbp file from the fourth link, rename it to 638.pbp and put it into the UPDATE folder. Disconnect your PSP from your computer again (and reconnect it to the charger), go to the game icon and run this update too. When it's done, check the firmware version under system settings. It should say 6.38 MEv2. Then press the PSP's select button. The "6.38 VSH MENU" should appear. Select UMD ISO MODE and set it to M33 driver. Press the select button again, delete the UPDATE folder and you're done.
I needed to know which PSP version you have because there are different 6.38 Custom Firmware versions for PSP 1000 and PSP 2000.

For the PSP 2k I'd first need to know on what firmware you are on at the moment and if it's on custom firmware at all.

Same way as above, instead of the files from link 3 use these:
    http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/2081 6.38 MEv3
It states in the article that it's for PSP 2k only, but I read someone already used it on a 1k too. I wouldn't recommend that though.
