I have a flip-top and I have mentioned before that is sometimes makes grinding noises and the laser noises , and people have said it was because of my media.. I dont know what kind it is but it has a silverish top and ,like, purple-ish bottom.
    I've read memorex DVD-R's are not good (from this site)((version 5or6 ps2, flip-top))

-I can get Maxell DVD-R...how are those?
-Or I can get Verbatim Digital Movie DVD-R's ...how are those?? (whats up with 'Digital Movie'??)
    -or just normal Verbatim DVD-R

well, its says maxell is the best (i didn't realize verbatim isn't listed, but its very good also). If your going to get verbatim, get the datalife PLUS brand, otherwise go for maxell.

I didn't say that, i said verbatim is not on the list. If your going to get verbatim, make sure they are the datalife PLUS version.

verbatim is probably a little better. I use ritek, work every time and is a LOT cheaper.

Don't go soely by that list. My friend can't burn TDK media for one thing. And my PS2 reads one of the "worst" media on that list. Just ry differnt media and see waht works for you.

    4TH CLASS MEDIA
Pathetic garbage media, landfill material, about 0-50% success rate:
PIODATA = Lead Data = (-R) ... often sold as "Pioneer OEM" but that's false

GO LEADDATA!!!!!!!! Never one that my PS2 couldn't read!
