I downloaded a video in asf-format. WMP 6.01. opens the file but can´t play it. Says it can´t find a decoder (or something similar, translated from Finnish). Does anyone where I can find a asf-decoder or of any other way to watch the movie.
ASF is a wrapper format, just like AVI -- so the actual video can be even in DivX format. But because ASF is rarely used, it's most likely that the video is in Microsoft's WMV format. Try to get the latest Windows Media Video codec from Microsoft's site and try if it helps.
Thanks dRD, it worked. Now that I formatted my hard-drives I´m going to have to install all the codecs all-over again.
