I'm using divx to dvd to convert my avi files to mpeg. Here is the problem. With movies that are in the 16:9 format they work and display correctly on my 16:9 tv(with the black bars and everything) But on my regular tv the bars are gone and it reverts to a full screen version with a considerable amount of picture missing on both sides. Why is it doing this? How can I get it to play in widescreen mode on both televisons? I just want to keep the original aspect ratio intact but cant seem to figure out how.

check the settings/setup feature on your DVD Player, sounds like you have "pan&scan" selected as the method of displaying a 16:9 on a standard 4:3 TV, select "letterbox" and see if that displays your 16:9 the way you want-with black bars top&bottom.
