I downloaded Smart ripper and loaded a DVD but smartripper said the was no Aspi adaptor and wouldn't function. What is a aspi adaptor and how do I install one?

    Thanks

    Hi,

This is an easy one :) An ASPI layer is an interface that lets your system communicate with your drives.

Download ForceASPI 1.7 and extract to a folder.

    http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/frcaspi.cfm

Now look in the folder for a batch file called INSTASPI, run it then reboot.

Now get ASPICHK to verify your install. All four entries should read ver. 4.60.

    http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/su...oduct/EZ-SCSI_5.0&filekey=aspichk.exe&sess=no

You should be good to go now!
