aspi layer problems

    How important is it to have an aspi layer
    installed? I'm having trouble installing them in Windows XP. I tried buring a few movies but they all haven't worked. Could this be the problem?

    Very important. You Advanced SCSI Programming Interface (ASPI) is needed to enable the burning of DVD's
