I have managed to burn my first 3 dvd's using a trial of Ulead videostudio 10.

I have an issue with playback. The picture does not synchronise with the audio. The files are all in DivX format.

Is it possible to rectify this. If so and is Ulead able to do this simplyort is there another program in which I am able to use that will alleviate this problem and be extremely easy to use.

    Thanks

Are the files in sync before converting? If so then really you have the wrong forum. You would want the avi to DVD forum.

Is it a constant or gradual sync issue after encoding? If constant, this should fix it: http://www.alexander-noe.com/video/amg/ Drag your origonal file into the top window, highlight it and select "generate data". In the lower window, highlight the audio and if other than 0 appears to the right, select start to name and place a new file to encode. Only takes a minute or two and works even when the origonal file shows no delay; I check all my files first. I've never used this for a gradual sync issue but it looks interesting: http://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?p=1566635#1566635

If the 'logo' is on the output from DVD Author Pro, I guess you have to pony up, but I get everything I need from Freeware.

An alternative is that you could import the output from 'DivX2DVD' to 'DVD Shrink' and let it burn your dvd.
It uses 'DVD Decrypter' to do the actual burning part.

As to the low audio, you might be asking a lot from an avi, but I have used 'VirtualDub' to boost the audio of TV episodes that were in avi format, but note that I'm no audio/video geek, so my needs are pretty basic.

    Run VDub
    File> Open video file (name_of.avi)
    Video> Direct Stream Copy
    Audio> Full Processing Mode
Audio> Volume...check box and adjust slider to 300%
    Audio> Compression > Lame MP3 48000,128,cbr,16kb/s
Note the Lame codec is downloaded separately.
Audio> Conversion...check boxes marked as 16 bit and high quality
File> Save as AVI...give it a new name.

DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter, VirtualDub, and the Lame Codec all freeware.

I don't regard 'geek' as a term of abuse or contempt.
It has simply replaced the "buff" or "aficionado" of a simpler age ;)

Is the sync out on the original AVI?
    You can try VirtualDub.
    Open the AVI
    Audio>Interleaving
Type a value in the Skew control box.
    Click ok.
    Audio>Direct Stream Copy.
    Video>Direct Stream Copy.
File>Save as AVI (give it a new name for safety).

Not that I know of. Unless AviMux_Gui shows other than 0 even if the origonal file plays fine on your pc and the new file is used, it doesn't help. Try attar's method.

Sorry to flood the posts but found a resolution and wanted to share...
    Solution:-
Disable Nero's own codecs which forces the prog to use the system codecs:
    In C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ahead\DSFilter, rename NeAudio2.ax to OLDNeAudio2.ax and rename NeVideo.ax to OLDNeVideo.ax.
If you ever need to reverse the changes for any reason just rename the two files to what they were.

I use VirtualDub 1.6.15 and it has no problem with Xvid.(as long as the XVid codec is installed)
