I'm capping off Direct TV using a ATI AIW 8500 DV. I got my video how I want it but I need to get my audio up to par. I notice when I do my encode.... oh BTW I'm using VDUD along with AVIsynth..... the audio portion has a lot of noise. It's kinda like constant hissing.... It's very annoying.. Is there a way I can get rid of this noise so all that I have is normal sounding volume. Thanks Josh

I notice when I'm recording, the line-in is fookin' HOT y'know - I have to turn it way low, way low or else my recording is gained up too high.
It will sound kind of hissy or fizzy, and distorts easily when loud parts come along.
Try gaining your recordings way down. The auto level control will adjust, and your recordings will have a whole different tone (much sweeter :)
    Hope this helps,
    Regards
