I've got a problem with a divX movie I downloaded - it works fine for the first 30 mins, then the sound disappears completely, and finally comes back again, out of sync with the movie.

I've tried opening the movie in VirtualDub - when I do I get this error:

"Virtual Dub has detected an improper VBR audio encoding in the source AVI file and will rewrite the audio header with standard CBR values during processing for better compatibility. This may introduce up to 782260 ms of skew from the video stream. If this is unacceptable, decompress the *entire* audio stream to an uncompressed WAV file and recompress with a constant bitrate encoder. (bitrate:190.0+/-23046.3 kbps"

Saving the file as an Avi gives the error:

    "ACM reported error on decompress"

    Anyone got any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Jonathan

    Can anyone suggest any fixes?

    Many thanks VCDjunkie!

Sorted the problem in about 3 minutes!
I thought I was going to be here for hours re-encoding!

    Cheers
