avi file to dvd disc.. can anyone help?

    hi guys..

    here's my problem.. i've converted several home movies into one big file using tmpgexpress 3.. which converted it to a 4.2gb avi file.. which i want to now put onto a dvd disc to play in my dvd player.

    i have nero 6 ultra edition.. but i cant find the right way to get it to work..

    could anyone help me please?

    you will need to convert the avi to an mpeg 2 format before you attempt to re author it with say... TMPGENC dvd author

    What about using http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/convert_avi_to_dvd.cfm ?

    Just a problem. An 4.2 GB .AVI file seems rather large (700-900 MB would seem more appropriate). Which codec did and which settings you use?
    The 'rule' is the HOW MUCH MINUTES of movie you can fit, not the AVI size (I could create an uncompressed .AVI 40 GB large from a 1h movie!).
