I wanted to convert a new avi file to mpeg-format with TMPGEnc. Opening the videosource was no problem. But opening the audiosource (for which I intend to use the same file, as usual) is a problem. The error which says that *****.avi cannot be opened because in use or unsupported occurs. It would be very kind to help me :)

    Thank you

Open TMPGEnc and click option - environmental settings. Click the "vfapi plug-in" tab and look for direct show, right click it and makes its priority 2.

If that doesnt work, then open the avi in vitual dub and click video - direct stream copy! click audio - full processing mode and click audio again and click compression. select no-compression PCm and click ok. Now click file-save avi. the avi saved has a better chance of opening in TMPGEnc!
