avi into a dvd disk

    ok i know i am slow but i need some help i would like to know how can i put a avi on a disk to turn it into a dvd disk that i can play on a dvd player and i have already downloaded nero...but just not sure how to go with it..but any help at all would be very nice...and by the way i got a reg. comp drive i do not have dvd drive.....thank you for your time and i hope someone is out there to help me out ....thanks agian

    you would only need a DVD drive in your PC if you were ripping straight from DVD. Since your source is an AVI file, then you would want to convert it first into VCD or SVCD format. I highly recommend DVD2SVCD, which has an option use AVI files as source, and SVCD as the output (much better quality than VCD).

    You may also want to find out if your DVD player is able to playback VCD/SVCD files, and whether or not it supports CD-R and/or CDR-W discs by checking the model number against this DVD player guide: http://www.vcdhelp.com/dvdplayers.php
