Is there a peice of software similar to DVD Shrink that will do the same to AVI files downloaded from the net?

Example, I can fit nearly a four hour copy of a dvd on to a single dvd-r but when I burn AVI files to a dvd-r I get only two hours max. Is there a way to compress these AVI files so I can get more on ond dvd-r?

I use DVD Shrink and NeroVision Express to burn dvds.

    Thanks!

TMPGEnc to get to DVD Compliant Mpeg's then TMPGEnc DVD Author to get VOB then DVD Shrink to compress then burn with your toaster of choice.

OR DivXToDVD then compress and burn to disc -

    Cheers,
