ConvertXtoDVD is one of the faster and better ones out there.

Check this setting. Go to settings>encode. If encoding quality is set to high quality will take a little longer. You can change it to medium quality.

How slow is slow? What are your pc specs?

If there is a faster one-click app out there...let everyone else know. Cuz I haven't seen one.

There are faster standalone encoders out there, but then you still have to author the encode. ConvertXtoDVD is automatic one-click, and I haven't seen anything faster.

Not bad at all on the specs - my guess with those would be 1 hr to covert say a 700mb avi w/ medium quality in ConvertX.

How long is is taking you?

    lol
When I use 2.8 ghz w/ 1 gig ram and it takes me say 50 mins w/ those settings in ConvertX. So 1/2 the ram just added some time.

ok i got a question about ConvertXtodvd.i just had ran a AVI through convertx. got my VOB files burnt it to a disc playedit on my computer everything looked great. took it out and put it in my dvdplayer. it then was in black and white and wasnt centered on the TV and looked kinda scrambled? but before i ran it in convertx i did run it through fixvts. should i have not done this???

I bring the output from Convertx into DVD Shrink.
If Shrink accepts the files without complaint, then I know they are 100% good.
I click 'Backup!' and tell it to burn the DVD with DVD Decrypter.

So, it plays ok on the PC and three standalones plus a PS2, but not on one player.
It will play previously burned disks without complaint?Just hates new ones?
If so I think the Nero Forum would advise to burn at a maximum of 4X on Verbatim and see if anything changes.

    @cincryrob
I'd skip the FixVTS with ConvertX - just let ConvertX do it's thing.
Check in ConvertX for this setting - settings>tv format. Have it set to NTSC. Might not be the problem though but it what I leave mine set at.

How about smirnoff bet instead of a sode :0)
I think ConvertX by default is set to automatic for TV format - I seem remember changing it to NTSC.
DivXtoDVD is the free version of ConvertX - not updated anymore that I know of but still good too.

    lol

Yeah when you get home you'll see what I mean - for TV format only 2 dropdowns - video standard and tv screen. Change video standard to NTSC from automatic. That might do the trick with the 1 player.
