what program's do i need to put an avi video file onto a dvd disc ?
http://www.videohelp.com/tools/DivX_Converter and dvdsanta should do the job....
Also, depends on whether your standalone player (if you have one) plays xvid's or not,if it does, then all you need is to burn them as data. i.e use nero
I highly recommend to anyone that has'nt got a dvix player,to get one.
Saves a lot of hassle, and time consuming file conversion
And often the results are not as good as the original source
You can pick a half decent player for less than £30 these days from svp
i used nero to burn these avi movies files to my dvd+rw disc.i wanted to play them on my computer and there not showing up. when i go to my computer it wont show the files. do i need to open the burned avi files with a sort of program or something?
thanks in advance
i have used nero and burnt it as a data file but it wont play on my dvd player
you need a dvix player to beable to play dvix files without converting them
what do i need to convert them ? i have used http://www.videohelp.com/tools/DivX_Converter
but i cant get any programs i have to burn it to a dvd disc
@tmwslick, Depends on what programs you have. If you have nero all you have to do is load the files you wish to convert using Nero Vision then it will convert them to DVD files then burn them on a blank DVD.I myself use Nero,ConvertXtoDVD,and TMPGEnc. Nero can be picky sometimes with certain files so i use convertx.
@0208psp, You really should start your own thread your hijacking slicks but i will try to help. Like i stated to slick Nero can be picky it might not have converted those files. Also did you just save the files on DVD or did you try to convert them to dvd and then burn them.
i just save them to dvd (im trying dvd santa atm) fingers crossed
well, you did say you burnt the file as data, which is wrong
if you have a video ts folder, use a program called folder2iso,then burn the image with imageburn
thank you all for your help i have done it at last
cant i just use something like vlc player to play it.
if your going to view on your pc then yes VLC will play the file for you just fine no need to burn anything.
the reason was my friend burnt the movies for me so i could watch it. the disc was a 4.7gb dvd-rw disk. when i pop it into the computer shouldnt it be showing. i believe theres something about opening and closing the disc when burning but i dont fully understand mayb it has something to do wit dat.
If you put a dvd in your PC it should auto play. Unless you change the settings otherwise
