(I tried to put this post in the video software discussion forum but didn't see the option to put it there)

I want to use avidemux, to do these operations but am having difficulty.

    http://www.sendspace.com/file/2gffzi medpart4.avi 1.6MB

    avidemux2 medpart4.avi --begin 0 --end 200 --save bitofpart4.avi

    http://www.sendspace.com/file/3ggs5u bitofpart4.avi 438KB

bitofpart4.avi midway, the video freezes and audio continues. So this is an error in extracting from medpart4.avi

Also when trying to append medpart4.avi to itself

    avidemux2 medpart4.avi --append medpart4.avi --save total.avi

but the video goes still, a bit like with the extraction bitofpart4.avi

In AviDemux, set the Audio to MP3.

when I do that, it solves that problem but cuts words off the end.

the words in this file are clearly "but which you did"

    endofmedpart4.avi
    http://www.sendspace.com/file/kdplnp

if I now join that file to itself

    avidemux2 endofmedpart4.avi --append endofmedpart4.avi --audio-codec mp3 --save endoftot.avi

Yet endoftot.avi created by avidemux, cuts off the "did" and concatenates endofmedpart4 as if it were "but which you but which you"

It seems that editing the video results in the chopping off of the last frames with the audio (the original file sounds like he's saying 'did - the').
The only way I could edit the original and get a clip including the last sentence in it's entirety, was to copy some additional frames to the end of the video using VirtualDub (about one seconds worth), this allowed me to take the clip with the entire 'did - the' and save it.

After I got this new file, I could trim it using VirtualDub - AviDemux still had problems.
Note that it is 41 seconds as opposed to the original, 40.
