I had 4.3gb of mp3's on my hard drive that I wanted to remove so I could make room to burn DVD's. Well I burned the mp3's onto the DVD-RW, then checked a few files on the disk and they played fine. I removed the files from my hard drive thinking everything was hunkydory......well, I put the disk in this week and it only shows one file: Track01.cda I don't know what I did wrong or how to retrieve those files from the DVD. Does anyone have any insight on this 4.3 gb dilemma. If you do, I sincerely thank you in advance.

I wouldn't know then as I have backed up 4.36Gb of mp3 files onto DVD-R successfully , but I have not tried addig to RW format.
Did you finalize the media ?
And as far as I know .cda is normal CD Audio format and nothing to do with mp3 , how this happened I wouldnt be able to speculate !

    The files should be [.cda]

You prolly need to rip em

    Open Nero
    Go DVD
    Under Audio
    Rip Tracks
    Press Select All
Use The LAME MP3 Format And Rip Em...

    That Shoulde Be It :)

    WTF !!!

Why all the ripping , the files were already on his HDD ??

I would just add mp3 as data in Nero Vision (DVD Data Disc)
    Verify afterawards & you have a DVD-R with 4.36Gb of mp3 tracks !!

    NOT .cda

.cda is not the right format at all, we're talking about mp3's here. I just finished putting some of my mp3s on 10 dvds yesterday.

I used recordnow dx, it does a much better job all round if you ask me than nero, i've tried a few times unsuccessfully to use nero, but i'm beginning to think i have something personal against it. Anyway, it's just a data disc, add the mp3's and off you go. Oh, re-writable media, i've had nothing but trouble with nearly all my re-writables, all formats. After about one or two uses i can't use the disc anymore. Prolly just the brand, will see when next i have money ; )

depending on the sizes of your mp3's you should fit about 1000 mp3's quite comfortably on a 4.7 gig disc.
I have been using nero and just transferred them on as raw data.

I initially burned the DVD with Nero Express as a data disc, that's when the DVD showed only one file Track01.cda....Zoiks!!!!! I was able to get into the mp3 files on the DVD through Nero and reburned it as an mp3 disc....Why I didn't do that in the first place is beyond me. I will be making another backup onto a regular DVD-R soon.

One of my mates who just got a pc burnt a music cd for me (audio) and when i throw it in my pc it shows the same thing, one .cda file yet will play properly, he used nero to burn it. Go figure.

Multi-session should only be used with RW media ;-)
    (even then results aren't guaranteed)
That sounds normal to me !: ]-~

No worries on the link , hope it helps...
