My PS2 does not read DVD+R backed up movies so can I backup PS2games with the same DVD+RW drive with DVD Decrypter software and then burn them with a new DVD-R drive when it arrives to me or do I need to wait until I get my new DVD-RW drive and then backup my games with it and finally burn onto a DVD-R disk?

You need a mod on your PS2... please read everything before asking questions. This question has been asked about 10000 times.

Yes I have a Modchip I didn't realise I had to state everything each time I asked a question my mistake.
    I have a Magic 3.1 Modchip.
Can I backup my games with a DVD+RW drive or should I go and use my new DVD-RW to back them up when it arrives?

Yes I know but at the moment I am trying to find out if I need to get a DVD-RW drive or will the DVD+RW drive I already have will do since I know it won't read backed up movies using DVD+R discs.

Everything seems ok, I also use Verbatim dvd+r discs, havent had any problems with them.
Hmm, could be a mod related problem?

No as I haven't installed my Mod yet, just arrived in post and am still in preparation mode and learning techniques. Appears to be very hit and miss whether a media which works on one V7 will work on another.

Then it must be a lens problem.
Have you tried adjusting the angle of your laser lens? You need to rotate the white cog inside the Ps2.

Does your Ps2 give read errors or something?
Does the same happen with original movies?
    How about ps2 games?

If I can remember correctly the error is Disc cannot be read or something along those lines.

Works fine with original movies and original games no problem.

    Disk Read Error...right.
You should try adjusting the lens.
Its not that hard to do and it wont damage your Ps2.
Heres a simple guide on how to adjust the lens (with images so dont worry!) > This should fix the problem =)
