Sorry heading should read 'Backup copies of DVD's are freezing for a second or so, help!

Hi all, I have now made about three dvd backup copies of my home collection, but when playing back they will freeze for a second or so and miss out a word or two every 15 mins or so.
Why is this and what can be done about it if anything?

I am aware that even the originals will pause sometimes for a second but no words are left out when it resumes play, so why the missed words on the copies?
Sometimes if I scan back and replay the scene that paused it will play it smoothley without any problem??
I have been watching the backup copies on my playstation 2.

I am using the dvd shrink program and copying to Datarite Red dvd's

Many thanks in advance guys and I apologise if this has been asked a hundred times before, I did do a search before hand, but no luck.

yeh interesting, sounds like I need to spend a bit more on the dvdr's then?

Just dont know which way to turn, having heard so many different stories on different makes of dvdr's.

What seems to be the accepted top brand then? Anyone?
I am using a Sony RW DW-U14A and nero burning software.

Everyone here likes Ritek G04 or Ridata, but you can get a bad batch. I have used them, but you must be careful to buy only branded Ritek or Ridata.
There is a learning curve here, this forum is of great assistance.

    I recommend Fuji,Pioneer,Maxell.

    Check out this guide.
