    I'm using a Standard DVD+RW (4040) and Memorex DVD+R 4.7.

1.) Is there a way to make PS2 backups playable on a console without any post-market modifications?

2.) Does anyone know of a step-by-step guide on creating backups this way, (or is there a post that I could not find?)

    Thanks all!

U dont have toi get a mod chip / open ur ps2, you can get swap magic discs, that way you just have to take the front of your ps2 drive of, inser tthe swap magic disc, and swap it with your backup , that way no internal modifications are made!

Here's the thing. A while back this guy at my barber shop approached me with a handfull of disks. One of them was a bootleg copy of Madden 2004. I gave him a $20 and took it home. It works lovely. I have no modifications or anything. Now I'm not suggesting that there's anything ok about bootleging, but I know it can be done. Does anyone know how?
