Is it correct that none of the ripping software for mac will bypass bad sector based protection schemes on DVDs?

    thanks

The forthcoming MTR 2.6 will be able to rip any DVD.

I think but I am not sure because I have never come across an ARCOS protected DVD that DVDBackup can deal with bad sectors.

Thanks Landor....but I'm not sure I understand your second bit. DVDBackup can or can't deal with unreadable sectors?

DVDBackup gives you the option to skip bad files and keep on
ripping the DVD so I think it will work but I may be wrong.
    Just give it a try.

Yes it does let you skip the bad file, but if the file is a .VOB that is 1GB you could miss out on a large portion of the movie!
