    Got it on http://www.nintendo-hacks.com/

As we have seen in the past, owners of first generation consoles are usually rewarded with hardware or firmware that allows them to mod their system (think PSP). Unfortunately, the same seems to be true with the Wii and the long term effects are not yet known. As it stands, the 3 mod chips currently available will only work on certain Wii systems, most of which were purchased before January. This is bad news to some of you who have recently purchased the system and really bad for those of you in Europe.

Below is a picture of the chip on the DVD drive PCB. You have to open your Wii up to see this. If you have the chip on the left.. you are able to use the new chips. If you have the chip on the right you need to hold off and hope for a new chip or a workaround.

    i knew this

i knew this was going to happen because if you read or have seen the german video talking about wii hacks they even said nintendo has manufactured eachs system diffrently so that it is harder for hacks to get in and mess with the console they also said the same hacks have been blocked in wii disks becuase each wii disk contains a diffrent file to tell it apart from other versions this sucks because this is going to be nintendos way of keeping people offline with illegal copys of wii software when online titles are going to be released so even if you purchase the chip have fun when the console goes online because unless you can read raw format and modifie the serial hidden in the format your pretty much in trouble from the get go

Quick reporting but you're off alittle bit. Both the left AND right chips are supported.

If you have the D2B then you have to wait for a revised modchip. The DMS and D2A are supported.

run on sentence from hell!! LOL

yeah, those chips are BOTH supported. I'm not worried though. There will be work arounds and new chips coming out that will bypass all this. There always are!

it must be a reason the picture says "supported drive chipsets (DMS and D2A)"
