As above. A mate of mine has offered me a chipped slimline for peanuts, including games he only wants £45 but it doesnt work. I presume it is the dreaded overheating and the laser coils burning out as it doesn't read discs, does this sound about right?
Is it worth it and what would it cost to repair including one of the mods to prevent the overheating?
The machine is Japanese but comes with UK lead and has a Matrix Infinity chip installed.
I have also been told the diodes on the board may need replacing, is this a big job and what are the chances it will be required?
    Cheers guys.
