i was thinking about getting a new drive since my current one cant burn so i was wondering what is a good drive to get
p.s. how can i identify an ide from sata cuz my current drive is hooked up with wires of similar size to my sata HDD and thats the only kind of wire. so if that makes my cpu only compatible with sata then please keep that in mind when u suggest a drive. also my budget is $35-ish and preferably from newegg.com

EDIT:a firmware detector tells me that my current drive is IDE. on the other hand i have a sata port free on my mobo, so does that mean that i can get a sata as long as i get the right wiring. also sorry for being such a newb in the situation

The top dog right now is the Samsung 203b (sata), but if you prefer to stick with IDE Lite-On, Pioneer & LG make excellent drives too.
