I would have to say that verbatim or maxell are about the best dvd-r to use on the xbox console.(in my opinion) My friend and I always use those discs and have not yet seen any to mess up on us.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't DVD+Rs be more compatible with PS2s and XBox IF you can set the booktype to DVD-ROM which is what games you buy in the store are set to? As for best discs, stick with your name brands like Fuji, TDK, Maxell, Sony, Verbatim (that means no Memorex, Philips, nor any store brand labels).

My PS2 is compatible with both and it actually reads the DVD-R's better. Maybe jaymizzle doesn't have a drive that can set booktype.

DVD-R are more compatible than DVD+R. They tend to work better with not just games but movies as well.
