what will be the best grphics card for £150, from HIS that can run command and conquer 3: tiberium wars? should i go for the HIS 256MB X1950 iceQ3?
this is nice from HIS HIS Hightech H195XTQT256DVN-R Radeon X1950XT 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 VIVO PCI Express x16 IceQ3 Turbo HDCP VIVO Video Card - Retail but why HIS? you can get this, and its way better EVGA 320-P2-N811-AR GeForce 8800GTS 320MB 320-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Video Card - Retail If you reallllllly need HIS get the 1950XT, but there is one stall, its not DirectX 10 the 8800GS 320 MB is, and its a lot faster
heres a chart to show you how to pick your cards, its sortof a comparison between both brands - nvidia and ati tells which card compares to what of the opposite brand got it off of tomshardware.com
NISSAN is right dude, the 8800GTS is the next gen card "THE DX 10" dude!!! & its wayyyyyy better than X1950 iceQ3.WIth X1950 u will have that DX10 taste & one more thing is that ATI used to have was FSAA+HDR simultaneously, which nVidia was lacking in 7 series. But 8800 can do the same thing with Dx10 alsverall its better to get 8800 & it can run all games like Rainbow Six:Vegas,Command & conquer 3 & all the latest games. So grab it Buddy!!!
according to gooooooooogle: 1 British pounds = 1.9312 U.S. dollars so lets say its a 1:2 ratio. 8800gts 320 mb costs = 299.99 (279.99 after rebate) if you compare the 2= acordinsg to gooooooooooooooogle : 300 U.S. dollars = 155.343828 British pounds
ok i will look for a uk retailor for them. also, what is the best version of the 8800GTS? for example, HIS are the best company to resell ati cards.
There are 2 versions of 880GTS 640MB & 320MB.The only difference is visible rest of the things are same in them. Check the links http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2007/02/20/nvidia_geforce_8800_series_round_up/1.html http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2007/02/13/nvidia_geforce_8800_gts_320mb/1.html http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2006/12/18/nvidia_geforce_8800_gts/1.html Now u choose!!!
i think i will go for the £200 BGF 8800GTS, have you got any pro or cond for this group. i have always had an ati, so i do not know much about nvidia.
The GeForce 8800 GTS seems like a really nice card from what I've researched about it...but I wouldn't go for the 640MB version...its too much money for a very small performance difference...the 320MB card is a better choice.
He is right dude the 2 from BFG has a price difference of $110 so 320 MB should be a better pick compared to performance.
all you need is a decent motherboard with a PCIEx16 slot and a high enough power supply i would recommend 550w
i have a 500W psu, and a pci-e x16 slot. will the 500 be enough? also, will my amount of RAM or proccessor affect it, becuas ei habe 1.5GB ram, and 3.06GHZ pentium 4 proccessor.
To check this link http://www.bfgtech.com/8800GTSOC2_320_PCIe.html This says a 320 MB version needs 425 Watts PSU,but there are other things too.So the best thing is get the card & check it on ur current PSU & if it doesn't work, then buy a bigger PSU.There is no need to waste the money. If u r saying u have 500 Watt PSU,i think it should work. Well one of a user is having config. AMD X2 5200, 2GB ram, MB ASUS M2N-E SLI NF500 SLI AM2 and 450 Power Supply. He is not having any problem.
