I am new to this whole soldering a modchip thing. I understand the basic concepts and would like to know from experienced guys here what soldering Iron (wattage) and solder is recommended for this kind of work? any tips or tricks? I am sure this will help I and the others that are new to this.

from what I hear, the new chip isn't worth it cause you can't update it

but if you still want to install the chip...you can use use any old soldering iron (don't use a soldering gun) and it will do a good job, I personally prefer the Cold-Heat iron :D

I've heard that the CycloWiz is updateable, but maybe it was just a rumor... Any solder iron will do. I've tried the Cold Heat, and it didn't work so well, because you have to make both ends of the pin to get the heat going. It's all up to you...
