Just downloaded a PS2 game for a friend. The rar file consisted of ioprp300.img some *.bin files and slus_210.59. How do I go about burning these files ? As the rar did not contain an image to burn. These look to me like the PS2 files themselves. Any ideas as im unfamiliar with ps2 games and disk layouts etc. Also can the PS2 use dvd-rw or is it just -r ?

if it is a rar file then you can extract it with Winrar to get your ISO
I know there is usually a long list of files like
    filename.001, filename.002 ect..
    you extract the first one.
It is DVD-R for burning games, or DVD+R if that is what your burner can do.

That RAR file was probably your image file.
WinRAR just thinks it was a RAR. Check it out.

Your right gridlock. The file was the image. Just renamed it to ISO and burned fine. Many thanks all for your help.
