Have you had any similar problems with any other backup?
It may be your no solder chip if you do.

does the original play in colors?... and is it pal or ntsc?.... if the original is in black and white it's the tv... it cant do either the pal or the ntsc signals... lots of people dl games today and say the original work fine but the backup dont.... well dude i got news for you... im not saying you dl the game.... but if the original black and white the same goes for the backup... it's quite imposible to make the backup black and white if the original play normally...

    wait a minute here.
Your mate gave it to you as a backup?
Meaning you do not own the original?
Meaning that you want us to talk about pirating this game?

    Sorry, this just won't do.

a dvdrip of FFx-2? no rip can be made out of it... the hidden files system on the dvd is impossible to crack... it's a dvd-r thats for sure... if the backup dont work no piont dl it again all over... just buy it if it's that good... i know i did i got me a FFX-2 ntsc and the international + last mission... good games always better to buy..

sorry dude my bad... i got me few typos in my post and i forgot to include the word TO..

as in "if the backup dont work no piont TO dl it again all over"

    sorry for that...

as for what type of tv well any tv today does multi signal transmit... just ask in any elecronics shop that sell tvs about tv that can do pal and ntsc in one w/o that problem of black and white... as for the backup you can keep it if you want... if the tv support secam you can use that... and the picture will be in colors.. but for that you need the cables.. just look on the tvs back if it has a 21 pin plug... if not well dude either buy a tv or the proper region game... i would go for the game since it's WAY more cheap then getting a new tv...

    Taken from : http://www.slidecard.it/EN/faq.asp

    Q. My games are in black/white - the screen flickers/scrolls?
    A. The Slide-Card product opens up the possibility to play games from other regions of the world (import games). The same television signals are not used all over the world, therefore some users might experience games being played in black & white, or maybe on old television sets the screen even scrolls and flickers. This is because the signal is different than the one your TV set is supposed to output. But don’t worry, it's simply because the cable that was sold with your PS2 console is crap. You need a RGB Scart Cable, S-Video Cable or Component cable. You will not only get a picture in color, but also a much sharper picture.
