My old Symphonic VHS to DVD unit will not read any of the new X speed DVDs. Can someone help me locate the old single speed DVD-R or -RWs? I need them badly to copy all of my VHS tapes onto.

They don't have any single speed DVD-R or -RWs. All they have are the 1-52X. My unit won't read these. Someone who has some very old DVD-r or -RWs on hand is going to be my best bet. Anyone out there with these oldie moldies?

Thanks for the advice. Maybe a better bet is just to buy a new unit!

Nope. They just carry the high speed ones unfortunately, just like Staples. I even called Maxell & they don't make them anymore.

That would be your best bet. A good one now will probably cost you less than what you paid for your current antique.
