Why won't it work? What is it not doing?
My Xcopy products work a treat, I use them ALL the time with top results.
If you still do not want to use it then try dvd shrink to read/compress your movie & if you have nero as your burn engine, shrink will automatically start nero & burn for you.
What are your system specs, is your anti-virus disabled, what anti-virus have you got. What burner have you installed, have you the latest firmware for it? What media are you using?
If you want to try shrink it is free & you will find it in the software section of this forum.
Please do not get too disheartened, burning etc can be both highly frustrating & rewarding.
Hopefully if you stick at it, read some of the guides here, buy the right media, will have your first burn in no time!
Hope this was of some help. Please do not hesitate in asking questions, we are all here to try & help people out.

    Kind regards,

This is something new for me, PLEASE HELP!!!

    Syst - P4, 512DDR RAM, 80G HD,XP w/SP1 & updates current, TEAC DVD +RW DV-W58E

I bought DVDXCOPY v.1.5.2 - the guy at the store promised me it would work

I called the so called tech support # they told me they do not provide support and refered me here. - - I am soooo frustrated, so hopefully some kind soul can help me out. Here it goes.

I have tried so many times to burn DVD - the first couple times (different movies)have completed, but they are all pixilly and jumpy.(I disabled everything running on my task bar)

I tried again after disabling everything from the start up in msconfig. NOW - It will copy, but once it is ready to burn the program will freeze up and stop responding.

If anyone can help me figure out how to get this program working properly it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanx,
    Missy

Xcopy is outdated and does not work with burn speeds over 4x I would go with DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink. Both are free and work much better then Xcopy. There are plenty of guides here to get you started.

not yet - could that be media related? It burnt fully however it was still pixilly with everything closed/disabled.

I have another brand here, I will try those, they are maxell, hopefully they will work.

You guys have been a great help, trying to help me out. I just want to get this program working, I hate feeling like I wasted my money on a product that I was told would work.

    thanx again

X-copy will NOT work with norton, even when disabled. It has to be completely uninstalled . I use PC-Cillin.
Memorex media bites, use ritek or verbatim.
There are lots who slag off x-copy, I love it. As for burning higher than 4X, forget it. Most stick to 4X, you have far less chance of errors.
As I have said my X-copy is brilliant. It is quicker than shrink. I can read a 7.7gig movie in 25mins & burn in 13-14mins. Use RW media, you will get no coasters.
    All my specs are below.

Thats funny I have Norton anti-virus and can use Xcopy.I just disable Norton and all other programs when burning.Outdated software is outdated software it's not going to get any better. It is time to move on.

Norton is notorious for upsetting x-copy, you must be one of the lucky ones.
    Personally, I hate Norton.

My X-copy may be old, I have not had a dvd I could not copy, and it is faster than shrink.
    Way faster.
Whatever works for you, is what is best for you? No?

SPEED KILLS and a lot of things are notorious for upsetting Xcopy.I just ordered Trend Micro's av I would agree Norton sucks, but it was free with my motherboard.Have you checked out Nero Recode2?

x-copy faster? read movie 25min burn 13min hmmm
    Decrypter rip whole movie 10min
    Re-Author with Shrink 7min burn 13min

My math is bad but if I add them up I get 8min less with Shrink Decrypter combo.

I was once a x-copy fan, but times have changed and I had to jump off of that bandwagoon :-(

But to each his own and if someone is happy with one way of doing things and get good results than why switch? I also wouldn't reccomend someone go out and buy a product that has been discontinued either though.

I have also had very good results with CloneDVD and AnyDVD. They seem to be the fastest combo yet if speed is what you are after.

Good luck and Merry X-Mas to All :)

Don't understand why DVD burn speed is even an issue
in some topics; if one wants a good, solid backup then
working at 4x has worked for me 99% of time. Of course,
my Toshiba 5112 only works tops at that speed, but w/
Ritek G04's, I've had excellent results w/ my Panasonic
CP72 player on Toshiba 46" WS HDTV. I don't mass produce,
so I guess speed doesn't matter. Remember, its like sex ..

Like baldbear, I use Clone/AnyDVD exclusively and its
worked perfectly xcept once, when I was '12-sheets ..'
    and cancelled process before finialized.

Have used DVDXC and Express versions before court order
and found they worked fine, but haven't returned to
    them.

Best to All .. Happy Holidays and Safe New Year !!
