XviD is the video codec, Saphire is the release group and avi is the container. All you should need to play it is XviD (or equiv). You could also use a standalone player such as mplayer, VLC, etc.

    CORRECT TITLE OF FILE.

    "Omen,The4.the.Awakening.dvdrip.divx-saphire.avi"
it should be divx and not xvid

If GSpot doesn't recognise it as an avi, then it isn't.

    It is either
    a) incomplete (missing header)
    b) corrupt (corrupt header)
    c) fake
    d) wrong file extension, well plus the rest of the filename would be wrong to.

Scene releases don't allow DivX. So I would be going with c. Probably there is no DVDRip's out or at least not one from Saphire. Have you checked?
