I was able to get an official Playstation 2 hard drive and found that it was able to show up when you access "Browse" on the system main menu. Since you are able to access the hard drive in this manner is there a way to put the HD Advance on to the hard drive and boot it up straight from the hard drive rather then the disk first? By doing this I won't ever have to switch to the HDA disk everytime I want to play uploaded games.

not possible. the ps2 recognizes the hdd, but only sees it as a storage drive. also, the system must be exploited or modchipped to run any elf files. the only way to boot directly to hdloader is with a modchip that has flash memory, so you can store the hdloader elf onto the chip.
