Boot Up

    hey ppl it my first time
    with this site
    my computer is having a boot up problem i didn`t toch for about five days or more
    one day i decided that i can`t wait no longer i pulged it in started to boot up i was loading Windows XP(OS) on it.
    When it reach the section where it should load the OS to the drive but all happen was that the monitor went blank and the CPU was still running

    can someone tell me what would be the problem for this to happen and
    a solution to stop this please?

    What was wrong with it to begin with?

    A failed installation that causes the screen to shut off....usually indicates a bad motherboard.

    thanks for the reply
    It all happen when i was installing a Norton Internet Suite 07 when it was finish it seem like the software has given the computer a Trojan (DON`T KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS) so i desided that i was going to reload XP on it to get rid of that problem.

    Norton's great for testing your computer's ability to crash...become unstable..and otherwise useless.

    Try removing all partitions during your XP setup...create a new one, and start from there.
