my ps2 doesnt read swap magic cd ver3, it doesnt read some ps1 games either.. However is it possible to boot breaker pro with the swap magic dvd? that way the ps2 will have booted and then breaker pro will have been used to boot the ps1 backup.

So i'n thinking that if the machine is already running then it will have no problem running ps1 backups cuz its already loaded in a sense with breaker pro.

If not will breaker pro work on an old grey ps1, well a later model that doesnt have an i/o port and is not chipped?
Also will the swap trick work that doesnt need a chip or smart card?

an orignal pressed version of breaker pro does not need to be booted with swapmagic to load ps1 backups the breaker pro disc should self boot in the ps2

Ok cool, and sorry. I asked that before I just remembered, but as I said my ps2 isn't to good with ps1 games so will breaker pro work fine on its own without a mod or smart card on my ps1?
I know it comes with a spring for ps1 but will my ps1 need a mod chip?

Where is the best store to buy a breaker pro disc in the UK?

Does the breaker pro act like a real PS1 game, ie, it just has the boot sequence like the ps logo and such? if so can playing ps1 backups be achieved with a spring and some swapping with real games? I know of the swap trick but have never tried it.

to use the breaker pro disc in a ps2 you would also have to use either the slide card or fliptop as well as the breaker pro disc but you say that your ps2 has problems loading ps1 games so i would not like to say if the breaker pro disc would work or not for you, i personaly haven't tried using it in a orignal playstation but would assume it works like the old gameshark trick, you place the spring in the hole were the lid open switch is so when you open the top the spring holds the switch down and the playstation don't know you have opened it, to boot a backup you would load up the breaker pro disc in your playstation open the lid swap for backup close the lid and press x

Hmm I guess I'll try it on my ps1. But i have used the spring before but in order to use it i had a cartridge that plugged into the I/O port. It was called a smart cartridge, it had cheats and a memory card manager and stuff. Using that i inserted a real ps1 game and it loaded to a menu that allowed me to enter codes and do things before i started, the disc stopped spinning when that loaded and then i put the backup in and started without codes... that was with the spring as well. I take it the smart cartridge i had or gameshark u had acted as the breaker pro does ie a boot disc in a cartridge? Much like swap magic a mod chip on a cd.

If so I'l definitly get one.
