So while trying to fix my PS2 I accidentally broke one of the connectors, the one that connects the head of the reader to the main board. Is there a way to fix this or do I have to buy a new reader?

    be more specific.

do u mean u broke the connector that holds the ribbon cable to the laser?

    if so, maybe.

years ago my 2yr old son pulled my old fat ps2 from a self under the tv. it only dropped 2 inches, but he tray was out and moved off the tracks, so i opened the ps2 and re-set the tray but in my endevour there was a little black clip, only very thin, that holds the ribbon cable that runs from the mainboard to the laser.

its that little black clip thats actually holds the ribbon cable in there.

    u may have broken that.

if so take it to a place that does ps2's and get one off a busted laser. if thats not it, while there get the ps2 pll to try and fix it 4 u.
