burn a downloaded movie with a dvd burner?

    hi everyone i am new to this forum and hobby and would like some help if possible.
    i recently bought a new computer with a dvd writer and i have downloaded a movie i would like to use on my home dvd player. i have downloaded nero,smartripper, and some othe files but can't figure it out. i have read different threads on this forum and i only see info on converting files with a cd writer. I have been at this since this morning and i have not gotten anywhere. could some one please help me out. thanks

    I would guess that the movie you have downloaded is in mpeg format - easiest would be something like Ulead or MGI VideoWave 5 that would allow you to take the Mpeg(s) and author a DVD.

    VideoWave 5 will take the avi and you simply "produce" a DVD (which is authoring - it burns the DVD and creates VOB files etc. from within the package).
