please edit your reply and take out your serial #..... you don't want others to post it all over the net do you? hit the edit icon:
which you'll find in the upper right hand corner of your thread....... you're serial # starts with 1A**-****-****-****-****-**** please take it out.

if you are using this drive to read your disk then turn on the DMA, follow this guide:
    http://my.afterdawn.com/alkohol/blog_entry.cfm/231/dmaissues

try shutting down some programs that are running in the background to save some memory.

burning too slow is just as bad as burning too fast! burn at half the rated speed of the disk soooo if it's an 8x disk burn at 4x.

    read all about your drive:
    http://www.videohelp.com/dvdwriters...&hddvdrom=&orderby=Name&hits=50&Search=Search
it's old now..... do not burn 16x disks. it might not be capable with the newer media out there. keep with the 8x disks, and even with a firmware update it might not help to burn those newer 16x disks.
