actually it's me ekim ,hopefully everyone is well. I hope i didn't post to much info. My hopes is that it's discreet and informational so as someone may point me into the stop the insanity direction.I was moving along nicely and all of a sudden "burn failed" message reads that everything stored correctly,just that final process , I suppose failed.I'm chucking disks like crazy,can someone help for I am by no means even remotely patient and feel I have tried everything in my power .Like others I've read deleted software ,reinstalled it,fiddled here and there,purchased this program and time is wasteing,my most sincere graditutde to whom may help me ,I hope i'm doing this correctly.

Here's a guide Burn process failed at 16x Take the burn speed down to 8x. Disc Manufacturer: Prodis - cF02 Okay at best media - if still fails after the above use some better media like Verbatim or made in Japan Sony, Fuji or Maxell. Using Shrink by chance? May be the reason you log shows Nero's interface version of Nero 6.

First try this Like Binkie said 16x is way to fast, especially for the media u r using. try 8x, or 4x speed when burning u might want to get rid of these here is a tool for that http://www.nero.com/nero6/eng/InCD_CleanTool.html try the speed first, if u still get an error than use the clean tool again let me state that the blank media u r using is not good

i managed to switch speed ,now that other suggestion. would i benifit putting that into action? have to tell ya liked it alot burning very quickly this morning and were kinda creeping now ,if this is just the breaks then so be it ,but ofcourse i'm convinced at this stage that the tech changed settings and after binkies suggestions everything worked fine ,even at 16X ,with all due respect ,any thoughts? i'm very open to your expertise.
Give 8x a shot burning - really not that much time diff - maybe a few minutes. Plus here's the kicker - your disc never really burns all the way at 16x - fluctuates throughout the burn process. Nero may say 16x but it's doesn't give you the average burn speed like a program like ImgBurn does. So you may not see that much of a diff at all. Plus the disc are made by Prodisc - okay at best - and depending on if their media code is supported in the firmware for the drive (hard to tell from the log on -R media) still may be hit or miss at 16x. (hope that makes sense) Do you know what the dell guy did to the pc by chance?
have u tried to burn at the lower speed? Successful? unsuccessful? U should get rid of the INcd drivers too, use the link for that tool i posted. Again the general rule of burning speed is half of the top rated speed, burning at 8x should take only 8 mins or so. if u really wanna burn higher than i would suggest getting 16x verbs and burning them at 12x, as i have done that with success but normally burn them at 8x. also, not to sure but it looks like the dell tech person might have installed the INcd drivers cuz i dont see them on ur first burn log u posted.

Yeah uninstall InCD and use the clean tool 300bowler linked you to. The drive is back in DMA mode too so you'll need to turn that back on too (see my 1st post for the guide link). Are you copying from a disc to then burn? Reason I ask is if the drive hits quite a few read errors it will keep going down a transfer mode until it hits the bottom - PIO mode. hey , well so far so good ,i had diffuculty starting shrink though last night ,but this morning it started,hopefully there wont be problems there ,then atleast we'd have a new topic.LOL yet i do have a question though . Why does my operating system ( in Nero tools)read as follows : windows 95 ,when indeed i have XP for sure? And when I explore these features in Nero ,several messages tell me 95 isn't supported DER!! and yet my shrink and Nero is working presently.Any thoughts?Especially upset that Nero does not have evening or weekend hours and my half hour lunch period isn't cutting it.thanks again
lol - then you'd have to pay like 1.99 per minute I think it is if you get someone. Do you have a snippet from the log you found where Nero shows 95? You can save it as a text file. In the logs you've posted you have this showing Windows XP 5.1 How old is the dell - I'm guessing all that old esp to have had 95 on there Good to hear all is doing good. Shrink starting slow - hmmm have you done a disc defrag and disc cleanup, virus scan and regsitry very recently? Good to do on a regular basis. For the disc cleanup and registry cleaner I would kill 2 birds with one stone and use . Great free program use the issues and cleaner options.
