Are you using a modded/unmodded xbox?
How are you copying them to your xbox, through xbox media player(if modded), or you doing it through the xbox dashboard?
Samsung drive reads almost everything and should read memorex, you could try using other media see if that works.

You just make an ordinary audio cd. Add your songs you wish to burn to cd and burn them. Make sure the mode your burning with can have mp3's and wma.

Yes that is exactly what you do. Then all you have to do is copy them over to your xbox hard drive.
