I have been copying DVD movies to DVD+R and DVD+RW using various methods (DVD XCopy Xpress, DVDShrink, DVD Decrypter) on a new Dell Inspiron 5100 with Philips SDVD6004 burner. When I copy to Maxell DVD+RW media it works fine. But when I copy to Maxell or Verbatim DVD+R media the burn completes successfully but the DVD causes applications which access it (e.g Intervideo DVD, Windows Explorer) to hang!!

No. My Panasonic DVD CV-37 also hangs trying to read the disk info.
DVD Shrink gives the following disk info -
"DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue.

    The error is:

No disk is in the drive.

The reason is: The volume does not contain a recognised file system."

DVD Decrypter says "Disc is empty" but correctly identifies the regions (1 to 8) and that no Copyright Protection. It also has Device info as DVD+R, and Disc Info as Status:Complete and Erasable:No
    Thanks.
